Consistent with carrying out the purpose of a Park District, it is the Commissioners’ policy to make park facilities available to tax paying residents of the Southold Park District. Applicants must abide by the conditions outlined for all park grounds and facilities.
  

INFORMATION FOR PERMITS @ SOUTH HARBOR
& FOUNDERS LANDING

PERMITS ARE ONLY FOR TAX PAYING RESIDENTS OF SOUTHOLD PARK DISTRICT.

In order to get an annual Southold Park District sticker you can either get them at the Park
Attendants booth at Founders Landing or by Mail.
The permits are only for the Tax Paying residents of the Southold Park District. Non Southold
Park District owners may purchase a monthly or seasonal permit for a fee.

You Must  Provide ID-name/address (Mailing & Physical), copy of registration of car owned.

 If by mail, the address is Southold Park District, PO Box 959, Southold NY 11971

No inflatable, bounce houses.

By Law:

To the fullest extent permitted by law, applicant will hold harmless Southold Park District, Southold Town, its officers, directors, partners, representatives, agents and employees from and against any and all claims, suits, liens, judgments, damages, losses and expenses, including legal fees and all court costs and liability (including statutory liability) arising in while or in part and in any manner from injury and/or death of any person or damage to or loss of any property in connection with or arising out of and/or occurring during the use of the Southold Park District’s premises. Applicant will defend and bear all costs of defending any actions or proceedings brought against Southold Park District and/or Southold Town, its officers, directors, partners, representatives agents and employees, arising in whole or in part out of any such acts, omissions, breach or default. The foregoing indemnity shall include injury or death of any employee of the applicant and shall not be limited in any way by an amount or type of damage, compensation or benefits payable under any applicable workers compensation, disability benefits or other similar employees benefit act. The Applicant filing any use of grounds application or the duly authorized representative(s) of the group/organization filing any use of grounds application must agree to abide by the Park Rules and Regulations and all conditions set forth above.

First Come, First Served:

All rentals at all Parks are available on a first come, first served basis. Sponsored events by a Southold
Park District property owner or an event that is held to generate a profit pr sell products are prohibited.

Forms:

Once the booking date is set with the Secretary, the use of grounds forms are sent to the applicant.

The forms are to be returned along with any rental fees, appropriate deposit checks and the insurance certificate by the date instructed on the forms. IF THE FORMS, CHECKS AND INSURANCE CERTIFICATE
ARE NOT RETURNED PRIOR TO THIS DATE THE BOOKING DATE WILL AUTOMATICALLY CANCEL.

The applicant signing the forms must be named on the homeowner policy providing the insurance policy.

Wharf House Additional Information:

In the event you are renting the Wharf House, the Wharf House Manager will contact the applicant one-two days prior to your event to review the above rules and regulations, set a time to open the building with you and give you information of closing times.

HOW DO YOU DETERMINE IF YOU RESIDE IN THE SOUTHOLD PARK DISTRICT?

The Southold Park District is NOT under the jurisdiction of the Town of Southold. Residents of Peconic, parts of the Bay View area and other outside hamlets of the Town of Southold DO NOT pay specific Southold Park District taxes.

In order to determine if you reside in the Southold Park District you may check your Southold Town real estate tax bill and see if there is a separate line item labeled Southold Park District taxes. If you pay specific taxes, you are able to use the grounds and enter our lottery for a boat slip or kayak slip space.

You may also call the Southold Town Assessors office at 631-765-1937 to determine if you are a resident of the park district.

Boundaries:

Eastern boundaries of the Southold Park District are as follows: RT 48 (Long Island Sound) west of Ruch Lane and west of the Mill Creek Bridge on RT 25.

Western boundaries of the Southold Park District are as follows: Long Island Sound (Soundview Avenue) 3600 feet west of Great Pond, 3000 feet west of South Harbor Road to east of Richmond Creek to Peconic Bay.

On Great Hog Neck (Bayview Area) the boundaries are North Bayview Road at the Goose Creek Bridge and Main Bayview Road to St. Patrick’s Cemetary and north of Bayberry Road. Laughing Waters is included in the Park District.
